Using a TNC (Terminal Node Controller)

Only very few things have to be told here ...

When using a TNC (Terminal Node Controller) all matters are simplified to a minimum. Just plug it in, make the right cable connections (described in the manual that goes with the TNC) and you can start right-a-way!

No special interfacing software is required, just run UI-View to do APRS, or any packet program to activate your packet radio station. For the latter i use Graphical Packet 1.63, an old but very nicely program that fits all your needs! It runs in a DOS window, but I did not experience any negative 'software-interferences' when running it under Windows 98. Both the home-made TNC2C and the newly bought TNC2X worked properly without any further adaptations.
